New single coming out 22 of march; ELVIS (We Miss You)

For some reason I cannot answer, I was giving an opportunity to show my appreciation and admiration to Elvis through this magical song.
ELVIS (We Miss You)
Some people call it coincidence, some incidents. but what is the truth of what is really going one when heartfelt devotions and light firing dreams are becoming a physical experience??
I will call it The Magic of Love! This magic of love along with a child like enthusiasm, is something that is a glorious free gift to everyone who is bold enough to choose to dream in heavenly realms.
Elvis Presley was one of those who showed the world Gods lighthouse through his love and dedication of music delivered from the heart. The king of Rock´ n Roll, the master of artistry with a true loving spirit!
In 2007 I was invited to travel to Nashville with a young and enthusiastic country music singer, Olaug Elise Alvheim. I had no plans of Nashville really, and thought that maybe California would have been the place for me to try out. But Nashville was just a musical wonder to experience, and we were welcomed everywhere we showed up. Soon after some small venues performances, we were beginning to being noticed, and one day this elderly nice man showed up. He introduced himself as Gary (Brotherman) Branchaud. He was a bassplayer and a producer with a lot of experience, and invited us to come to Strait Up Sound Studios and record our music. A band would be available (read more at the Nashville photos on the history side), and the price would be special off for us if we would consider go for it.
This was exactly what I had hoped for, because I had just met this wonderful nice man at the Best Western Hotel where we lived. He was the handyman in the hotel, and the friendliest person to hang with. Charlie Master was his name, and told me he had been a lyricist for many country music artist over the years. I said, that is so wonderful, because I brought with we a song that I wish to record, but I am not satisfied with the lyric. We agreed that Charlie should take over and write a lyric to this love song. Soon again Gary showed up, and said the studio is booked. I quickly searched Charlie up, that said; I am not finished.. just give me some minutes. I waited in the lobby a little while, and soon Charlie showed up with the song now called Hey Hey Song.
From there it all went step by step, where I was inspired to return to Nashville in 2008 to record the full album called; Two Hearts. In-between the recording sessions those three winter weeks in February in Nashville in 2008, Gary Branchaud asked me if I would like to come with him, Butch Davis and his son to visit a young and glorious guitar-player living a little outside of Nashville. I said; yes of course, and one Sunday or should I say Sunny Day, we were on the road. I noticed the guys were so cheerful about something, and started to think this was kind of overloaded happiness. When we arrived, no one less than Scotty Moore were standing on the porch and welcome us. I was so stunned, because I recognized his at once. I must say that a welcoming like I had that day, was not usual for me to experience. In kind of awe I followed my new music friends into the adventure and history of the guitarist himself that had played such an important part of Elvis Presleys early carrier. A memory meeting of heartfelt devotion I will never forget!
Before I returned to Norway, I met Charlie again and told him about this experience. I think he felt a bit disappointed that he was not included in that visit. But thus all, he handed me 2 song lyrics, and asked me if I could put a melody to them and record them. I promised I should do my best and give them a try. When I returned home, my thoughts were only on the album project, and the lyrics ended up in a shelf. It happened over the years that I took them out and looked at them, but the time were not right, and 18 years had soon passed.
Then one day I sat with guitar, it was the 8th of august 2025. I was playing this strange opening for something, then I heard this clear and encouraging voice inside my head; "Go and get the lyrics you had from Charlie". I obeyed immediately, went down in the basement, and the first paper I draw out was the song about Elvis. Now was the time, I knew, because when I got up and started to go through the lyrics, the cords and the melody-lines just laid itself before me kind of. Ah I thought, It will like show the blend between country, blues, gospel and rock in a smooth way.
After I had kind of nailed it, I was starting to check on the internet if Charlie Masters were to be found. Nothing! Ok, Gary then? The sad news was that Gary had passed at the same date as the birthday date of Elvis, the 8 of January. This was exactly 7 months before I this day, 8 of August. Ok, I thought, so here it could be Charlie urging me, or Gary, who knows maybe also Scotty. But someone from the spirit world had definitely encouraged me to put this song together. Maybe the spirit of Elvis himself was participating? Who knows? But the song further went to be recorded, where I did all the guitars, vocals and B3 organ, and hired Hans-Olav Molde that is playing the drums.
I think this is such a magical story, where love goes beyond the physical plane, where we all are one with the true spirit of God, that indeed is just LOVE, where there is no measuring in terms of winners or losers, but from the magical frequency of the loving heart. At the bliss state where we honor each other despite distractions from the material perspective. So bless those loving energies that urged me to pick up this wonderful remembrance of one of this worlds greatest musical personalities, who shared the joy and love of true and honest music, Elvis - We Miss You!

Blue Tide
With my 25th album, Blue Tide, that is a complete instrumental, I have followed the magic of the intuitive and the impulsive, where the imprints from cultivated thinking did not catch up. The project started from a moody blue feeling one evening, where I said out load with my guitar in my hands; "I don't think I have it anymore". Next experience was like God replied; "So you don't?.. we'll see about that"! And like magic was dropped down on me, new and original ideas popped in one by one.
Next day I went through the video that my loved one Kari had recorded from this happening, and this strong blue light brightened up through the windows on the recording.
This could be a nice cover for an album I thought, and from there I was lightfully guided through the recording sessions in my studio, that happened naturally impulsive and without no boundaries or limitations from the ego-control perspective. Only pure creativity from the source of music was guided through my hands, that followed the inputs willingly and trustfully.
After six weeks from the beginning of August to mid September 2024, 11 pieces of beautiful new guitar-instrumental music was recorded, with rhythm guitars, bass guitars and solo guitars. A half year later, after editing was done in also felt as guided moments, I began to record keyboard sounds and sometimes B3 organ on different tracks. Since my son Kenneth was occupied, I hired the Portuguese session drummer Nuno Oliveira that lives in London, who did a remarkable good job!
For me, this project is showing the way of God. How the essence of Love still works through those who are blessed with a humble heart and attitude. God love to surprise those who have accepted in fully to be an instrument for divine creativity based on enthusiastic and inspirational Love. The album also marks, by each song title, a sentence that tell how the humanly cultivated mind is limited compared to the essence of God.. whom guides so surprisingly original and beautiful when the receiver is open and not competitive, but in trust and in love with the source that creates.

All music is written, arranged, produced and mixed by me Rey Larsen, where I also are playing all instruments. Except for drums on the four first tracks, played by Sindre Bakkåker, and Shane Fontayne who is playing electric guitars and mix on Nothing Works But Love.
Into The Light And On
This is my album number 24, where also this one is recorded in my own studio. Half of the songs are ones that has been waiting for a place in my musical library, all back from the eighties and on. Tracks nr. 1-3-7-9-10-11 is new songs.
It is a concept album trying to reflect the issus how we are culturally dressed to loose our lights during cultivation, and how this moment in history is at a pivotal point where humanity is pressed to wake up from their scars of self-denial and refine and cherish their inner cosmic light of love.
The flower from the Malva sylvesttis I photographed is used on the cover to symbolize the purity and the beauty from the wonders of creation. As a metaphor and portal into the Holy Spirit’s laws of size, where every creation is equally valued, and has its own remarkable place and diversity in the oneness of life.
